International Festival “Development of Young People in Modern Russia” took place on 25th – 27th of September, 2008 in Tomsk, Russia.

The main events of the festival were:

• Youth Forum “Digital Boom” for participants from Russia and other countries;
• International Conference “Information Technologies in Education – Siberia – 2008” (ITE Siberia – 2008);
• All-Russian Forum “Use of free soft ware in education activity”;
• School of Business Success, theme “Expomarketing”;
• Competitions for school students.

Combination of all these events allowed to review a complex question of information technologies in education.

The main organizers and founders were:

• NEDUtech;
• Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation;
• Federal Agency for Education;
• Russian Academy of Education;
• Tomsk State University of Control System and Radioelectronics.

The following well-known IT companies took part in events of festival HP Russia, Microsoft, "Kaspersky Lab", ALT Linux.

The themes discussed at forum were:

• Development of young people through information technologies;
• Educational opportunities of social networks;
• Portfolios of students;
• Youth entrepreneurship;
• Information technologies in education;
• Partnership program;
• Sport and IT.
